Jonathan Dozois
Horn
Rochester-Based hornist Jonathan Dozois has served as 2nd Horn for the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra (Ithaca, NY) since 2018. In addition to his work with the CCO, he also serves as 2nd horn for Syracuse’s Symphoria. An active educator, he serves on faculty at Roberts Wesleyan College and Houghton University’s Greatbatch School of Music. Having previously spent 4 seasons as Acting Associate Principal Horn with the Rochester Philharmonic, he also held the position of Principal Horn with Seoul’s Symphony S.O.N.G. and 3rd Horn with the Wichita Symphony.
Mr. Dozois holds a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music from Wichita State University, where he studied with W. Peter Kurau, Dr. Nicholas Smith, and Amy Larkey-Emelianoff. He also holds a faculty position at Houghton College, and served briefly as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Eastman School working with incoming freshman hornists, and as an applied lesson teacher with Monroe Community College.
