Ventosa Vineyards
3440 Route 96A, Geneva, NY 14456

Experience the unbeatable matching of local wine with luscious chamber music, all with the unique Tuscan setting of Ventosa Vineyards on Seneca Lake. As Harvey Steiman of Wine Specator writes, “Sipping a wine that complements the music can do the same as a happy wine-and-food match. It can improve both sides of the equation.” Featuring Kevin Kumar (violin), Amy Sue Barston (cello), and Ted Atkatz (percussion).

The Repertoire & Wine Pairing

1st: 2023 Semi Dry Reisling | On the nose, refreshing citrus aromas and a hint of apple cider.  On the palate, vibrant flavors of mango, lime zest and peach create a delightful balance.  Finish has hints of lemongrass and nutmeg.

Music: Mark Summer: Julie-O

2nd: Rosato | Dry rose made from a blend of Pinot Gris and lightly-oaked Pinot Noir giving it a harmonious array of sensory notes.  An herbaceous nose sets up clean, fresh notes of cantaloupe and tea-like tannins with a pleasantly spicy finish.

Music: Medley of Scottish and Bluegrass fiddle tunes

3rd: 2019 Sangiovese | Greetings of aromas strawberry and rose.  On the palate, savory touches merge with creamy red currant and cherry blossom and tobacco.  Aged in Hungarian and American oak.  Sleek tannins ensure a harmonious finish.

Music: Antonio Vivaldi: Spring from the Four Seasons (selections)

4th: 2020 Cabernet Franc | A product of the Finger Lakes’ remarkable 2020 growing season, this Cabernet Fran establishes a nose of rich, ripened blackberry and fig.  These notes continue onto the palate, enhanced by a warm swirl of clove and cedar; finishing with a black cherry and slight sensation of mint.

Music: Astor Piazzolla: Tango Etude

5th: 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon | Berry-laden aroma with cozy warmth, palate of tart rhubarb and oceanic minerality meets roasted yellow apple.  Its tannic finish is accented with noted of soft leather and a hint of coffee and cacao.

Music: Lennon-McCarthy: Eleanor Rigby
